Theresa Kristovich is a partner in the Los Angeles office. A highly experienced trial lawyer (with more than 40 jury trials), Ms. Kristovich's practice involves all aspects of business litigation, including trade secret, financial institution and securities disputes, as well as intellectual property cases involving patent, defamation and copyright issues, the defense of employers in discrimination, harassment and termination disputes, products liability cases, defense of class actions suits and criminal defense cases in both state and federal court. Ms. Kristovich also has represented numerous financial institutions in a variety of matters, including regulatory issues. Additionally, she has conducted numerous internal corporate investigations.
As an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, Ms. Kristovich prosecuted a broad range of major crimes including tax, mail and wire fraud and narcotics offenses. She also was selected by the district court judges and served for nearly 25 years as a member of the Federal Indigent Panel for the Central District of California. In addition to having tried more than 30 felony criminal cases, Ms. Kristovich has handled more than 40 criminal appeals before the Ninth Circuit and has assisted clients numerous times in connection with preliminary hearings, federal grand jury investigations as well as in defending OSHA criminal prosecutions.
Before joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Kristovich served as Vice Chair of the Litigation Department of a large Los Angeles firm and also as chair of the Litigation Department in the Los Angeles office of a major New York firm. She has taught Constitutional Law at Occidental College and Civil Procedure at the School of Administration at USC.
