Kara Persson and Tatiana Oseroff Receive Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services

Senior Counsel Kara Persson and Associate Tatiana Oseroff were each presented with a Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services for their work on behalf of a Somalia refugee seeking asylum in the United States.  The awards were presented by Elizabeth Lopez and Josh Chatten-Brown of Casa Cornelia Law Center, a public interest law firm providing quality pro bono legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations.

In presenting the award, Kara and Tatiana were commended for their tenacity, thoroughness, and willingness to go "above and beyond." 

About the Wiley W. Manuel Award: The Wiley W. Manuel Award was established in 1989 by the State Bar of California. The late Justice Manuel served as a California Supreme Court Associate Justice from 1977-1981, following 23 years with the Attorney General's office, the last three of which were as chief assistant attorney general. Justice Manuel's legal career and his personal life were marked by a dedication to hard work, public service and the concept of equal justice for all segments of society.
