Partner Rosemary Carson Joins the Orange County Office

The Orange County office continues to expand with the addition of partner Rosemary K. Carson.  Ms. Carson is with the Construction Group, as well as Hospitality, Commercial Litigation, and Employment.  Ms. Carson specializes in sophisticated business litigation, providing counsel and addressing claims involving:

Public and private construction contract formation and breach (including AIA, AGC, ConsensusDocs, Public Contract Code);

Bidding (preparation, substitution, protests);

Green building construction (assessing and minimizing risk, contract language, LEED requirements, sustainability issues);

Unfair business practices;

Defect/delay claims (via mediation, arbitration or state/federal court);

Construction remedies (mechanics liens, stop notices, performance/payment bond claims, prompt payment laws);

Labor and employment;

Insurance, surety and indemnification

Ms. Carson has represented owners, contractors and subcontractors on a wide variety of public and private projects.  She counsels clients through every aspect from contracting to litigation, including:  early assessment and minimization of liability exposure; cost-effective dispute avoidance and resolution; strategy development for crafting a winning defense or prosecution; negotiating payment on projects with distressed parties or funding; and litigating cases through trial.  Her extensive experience in multi-party litigations enables her to act as a key liaison between clients, opposing counsel, public entities and officials, various experts, and joint defense or prosecution teams. 

Ms. Carson earned her Juris Doctor from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 1997, and graduated from Pitzer College, earning a B.A. with High Honors in Political Studies. 

Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Ms. Carson was a senior associate in the Irvine office of a large international law firm.
