On June 9-10, 2011, the Young Lawyer’s Committee of the Defense Research Institute will hold its annual seminar in Austin, Texas. 2011 will be the first time the event is held in Austin and Gordon & Rees’s newly opened Austin office is proud to be a sponsor. Gordon & Rees opened its third Texas office in Austin in April 2011 and every attorney is a member of the Defense Research Institute.
The Young Lawyers Seminar is designed to facilitate the development of important legal skills in young lawyers, as well as provide an important opportunity to develop and expand professional networks. This year’s program features distinguished speakers from around the country, including trial lawyers and in-house counsel from a broad spectrum of U.S. companies.
The Young Lawyers Seminar also promotes the community involvement aspects of the legal profession by arranging opportunities for attendees to give back to the host city by participating in local community service projects This year, attendees will be spending an afternoon with the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB), the largest hunger-relief organization in Central Texas. CAFB has been serving the Texas community for 30 years by providing food and grocery products to more than 350 partner agencies in 21 central Texas counties.
