Gordon & Rees has been recognized by Texas Lawyer on the publication’s Texas 100 list of the largest firms in the state. This year marks the first time Gordon & Rees’s Texas offices have appeared on the annual ranking. Gordon & Rees tied with three other firms at No. 89 on the 2013 survey.
For the Texas 100 survey, which appeared in Texas Lawyer’s April 29 issue, the newspaper ranked firms according to the number of lawyers employed in the Lone Star State. Attorney counts were based on average full-time equivalent lawyers for calendar year 2012.
Houston office managing partner Joseph W. DiCecco says, “The fact that we are one of the largest firms in Texas reflects our 10-year commitment to the state and shows how our Houston, Dallas, and Austin offices are integral to Gordon & Rees’s continuing national growth.”
Founded in San Francisco in 1974, Gordon & Rees is a national Am Law 200 litigation and business transactions firm with more than 525 lawyers and 28 offices in 18 states. Since 2000, Gordon & Rees has nearly tripled in size, added more than 20 offices outside California, and has a major office in eight of the 10 largest cities in the United States. In 2012 alone, Gordon & Rees opened seven new offices, and earlier this year it launched a Philadelphia office.
The firm has been ranked as a “BTI Client Service All-Star” for the past two years and as a “Litigation King” by Corporate Counsel magazine on its 2012 list of who represents Fortune 100 companies. Gordon & Rees also is ranked at No. 111 on The National Law Journal’s 2012 list of the largest U.S. firms, and at No. 139 on the Am Law 200 and No. 21 on the Diversity Scorecard, both published in 2013 by The American Lawyer.
