Richard T. Victoria Joins Gordon & Rees's Pittsburgh Office

Richard T. Victoria has joined the Pittsburgh office of Gordon & Rees as a partner. Mr. Victoria is a member of Gordon & Rees’s Commercial Litigation, Insurance, D&O and Securities Litigation, Appellate, and Antitrust sections.

In his broad litigation practice, he has represented clients of all sizes in the retail, manufacturing, medical, banking and finance, insurance and software industries in a wide range of business-related matters.  Mr. Victoria has litigated cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout Pennsylvania and other jurisdictions as well as in American Arbitration Association (AAA), International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR), and FINRA arbitrations. 

In his business litigation practice, Mr. Victoria represents his clients in an array of business and contract disputes, including those involving sales agreements, commercial loans and leases, securities, noncompete agreements, and tort-based claims such as negligence, fraud, and interference with contractual relations.  He also regularly handles insurance issues ranging from soliciting and securing insurance coverage to defending against and asserting claims under a wide range of insurance policies, including general liability, excess and umbrella, directors and officers, errors and omissions, business, homeowners, life and health, disability, and employers’ practices liability insurance.  In his related appellate practice, Mr. Victoria has succeeded in having both favorable decisions upheld and adverse decisions reversed. 

His work has garnered him a Martindale-Hubbell peer rating of AV® Preeminent™ (5.0 out of 5.0), and the honor of inclusion in “Pittsburgh’s Top Rated Lawyers” (2012 Edition) in Commercial Litigation and as a Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Law & Politics Magazine (2010).

Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. Victoria practiced for nearly 18 years and was a partner in a Pittsburgh-based law firm where he served as Co-Chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Practice Group and assumed other leadership roles.

Mr. Victoria is a qualified mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and his B.B.A. with high honors in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
