Gordon & Rees San Francisco Office Continues Expansion; Adds Three Lateral Partners With Diverse Practices

Additions Include Return of Ace Litigator Fletcher Alford

SAN FRANCISCO--On Sept. 2, 2014, Gordon & Rees welcomed two new partners to the firm's expanding San Francisco office, bringing to three the number of lateral partners who have joined the firm’s San Francisco office over the past month. Fletcher Alford returns to Gordon & Rees from Dentons and Brian Mulry joins the firm from Gagen, McCoy, McMahon, Koss, Markowitz & Raines. Robert P. Andris recently joined Gordon & Rees from Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley.

“As the firm prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary in October, we are thrilled to welcome home our friend and colleague Fletcher, who along with Brian and Rob add dynamic new capabilities to our growing San Francisco office,” says firmwide managing partner Dion N. Cominos. “These outstanding lawyers are the perfect additions for Gordon & Rees's expanding commercial litigation, class action, land use, and intellectual property practices.”

Alford – previously a partner in Gordon & Rees for 22 years – rejoins the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Class Action Practice Groups. He focuses on commercial litigation and the defense of class actions and other complex matters, with an emphasis on claims involving financial services, product liability, consumer fraud, breach of contract and unfair business practices. Alford has extensive trial and appellate experience before state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mulry joins Gordon & Rees as a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group with a specific emphasis on land use. His practice includes processing development projects, environmental review processing, builder permitting issues, citizen group representation, private land use and real property disputes, solar and cell tower leasing and transactions, and state and local government law. Mulry’s practice also includes employment law, environmental law, civil litigation, business litigation, and trademark and copyright law.

Andris is a partner and registered patent attorney in the Intellectual Property Practice Group who has been counsel in more than 70 state and federal appeals. His practice focuses on litigating IP disputes in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secrets, product liability and license agreements. Andris has been lead counsel in infringement and invalidity jury trials and at numerous Markman hearings, and he has handled patent suits across the country.
