Kelly V. Milam has joined Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani as a partner in the Chicago office. Milam is a member of the firm's Commercial Litigation and Trucking & Transportation practice groups. Milam was previously with Cray Huber Horstman Heil & VanAusdal LLC in Chicago.

Milam also handles cases in products liability, toxic tort, premises liability, medical malpractice, and commercial law. She has a proven ability to manage sophisticated matters involving cases in Illinois and Indiana and has trial experience involving catastrophic losses from pre-litigation investigation through verdict. Her clients include construction contractors and subcontractors, transportation carriers and their insurers.
Milam is a frequent presenter to insurers and claims managers regarding topics such as Illinois law updates and claim investigation. Also, she has published several articles regarding trucking trends and defense strategy. Milam is recognized as a 2016 Emerging Lawyer in Leading Lawyers magazine pursuant to her nomination by peer Leading Lawyers in Illinois.
Milam is admitted to practice in Illinois, Indiana, and United States District Courts: Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Indiana and Northern District of Indiana. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA). Milam is currently Co-Chair of TIDA's Marketing and Industry Engagement Committee.
Milam received her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. Milam is active in the Chicago community serving on the Board of Advisors for the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Chairman's Advisory Counsel of the Big Shoulders Fund. Milam is also currently the Chair of the Membership Committee for the Big Shoulders Fund which provides support to Catholic schools in inner-city Chicago.
