Gordon & Rees Welcomes Fifteen New Attorneys in January 2018

In January, Gordon & Rees welcomed fifteen new attorneys to our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Hartford, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Diego, and San Francisco offices. They join the firm as members of the Commercial Litigation, Construction, Employment, Environmental/Toxic Tort, Insurance, Intellectual Property, Professional Liability, and Tort & Product Liability Practice Groups.

Alexander Brown, Associate
Philadelphia, Insurance

Alex joins the Philadelphia office as a member of the Insurance practice group. He has successfully represented clients in a wide range of complex first- and third-party insurance coverage disputes involving large-scale construction defect claims, environmental claims, and bad faith claims. Alex’s experience also extends to representing clients in large personal injury suits and administrative actions before various governmental entities. Alex earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and his B.M. from Syracuse University.


Rebecca Cain, Of Counsel
Phoenix, Commercial Litigation

Rebecca joins the Phoenix office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Her experience in litigation management and practical problem solving allows clients to focus on what’s important: running their business. Her trial experience and background in accounting and business provide her insight into the difficult challenges clients face when dealing with litigation. She draws on this experience to work with clients to implement a litigation strategy that supports their business objectives and needs. Rebecca earned her J.D. from Arizona State University-Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and her B.B.A. from Gonzaga University.


Annelise Dominguez, Associate
Phoenix, Commercial Litigation

Annelise joins the Phoenix office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, she garnered experience working with division corporate counsel in the legal department of Rural/Metro Corporation. There, she focused on a wide variety of areas including commercial transactions, health care, HIPAA, contract drafting and negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and employment law. Annelise earned her J.D. from Arizona State University-Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and her B.A. from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.


Mitchell Fishberg, Partner
Hartford, Employment

Mitchell joins the Hartford office as a member of the Employment practice group. He provides legal and business advice to corporate employers in both transactional and litigation-related matters. His practice encompasses the full range of issues relative to the business environment including: the development, negotiation and drafting of agreements that form business relationships; counseling and advising companies through difficult employment-related issues; assessing risks associated with executive, employee or independent contractor terminations as well as negotiating and drafting complex compensation and separation agreements; strategic counseling in assessing trade secret, confidential and proprietary information, contractual, and other risks associated with the potential hiring of executives and employee raiding from competitive entities; and, litigating disputes with current and former employees, contractors and other service providers. Mitchell earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and his B.A. from Lafayette College.


Richard Green, Partner
Hartford, Intellectual Property

Richard joins the Hartford office as a member of the Intellectual Property practice group. He provides legal and business counsel to Global 2000 corporations, Wall Street banks, emerging companies and individual inventors in matters involving the sourcing, commercialization, use and protection of intellectual property, technology and technology-enabled products and services around the world. In addition to transactions, disputes and rights registration, Richard assists clients in operational, governance and compliance matters with a particular emphasis on privacy and data security in regulated industries including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards and SSAE-16 and AT 101 requirements. Richard earned his J.D. from University of Connecticut School of Law and his B.A. from Central Connecticut State University.


Gina Hogue, Senior Counsel
Portland, Insurance

Gina joins the Portland office as a member of the Insurance practice group. She advises insurers on coverage issues arising from first and third party claims. She also litigates bad faith and breach of contract actions. Prior to re-joining Gordon & Rees, Gina worked as an executive coach and legal talent management consultant, helping law firms develop and implement strategic talent management initiatives. She is a certified ICF coach and Certified Professional Career Coach, having received her training in London, UK, at the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). Gina earned her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and her B.A. from the University of Virginia.


Michael Huynh, Associate
San Diego, Employment

Michael joins the San Diego office as a member of the Employment practice group. He has extensive experience in handling cases from inception to trial which includes settlement negotiations. Michael previously represented Plaintiff and Applicant in the field of Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, Employment, Immigration, Bankruptcy, and Family Law. Michael earned his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.


James Insco, Partner
Pittsburgh, Environmental/Toxic Tort / Tort & Product Liability

James joins the Pittsburgh office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort and Tort & Product Liability practice groups. He has defended claims against variety of premises owners and product manufacturers and has been responsible for securing a number of significant defense rulings on summary judgment. He has key experience with and an understanding of the factual record surrounding the uses of equipment and asbestos-containing products by the United States Navy. He has significant experience as trial counsel and has served in that role on trial teams. James earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from Wake Forest University.


Marshall Lurtz, Associate
San Diego, Employment

Marshall joins the San Diego office as a member of the Employment practice group. He has experience handling a wide range of employment, class action, and complex civil litigation matters. He previously served as a Judicial Extern in the Northern Mariana Islands. Marshall earned his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Kansas.


Tara Lynch, Associate
Boston, Construction

Tara joins the Boston office as a member of the Construction practice group. She focuses her practice on construction defect litigation and the defense of real estate and design professionals. Additionally, Tara has experience in the defense of complex personal injury and wrongful death claims, premises liability claims, products liability claims, and representation of clients at the appellate level. Tara earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and her B.A. from Fairfield University.


Maxine Nicholas, Associate
New Jersey, Employment / Professional Liability

Maxine joins the New Jersey office as a member of the Employment and Professional Liability practice groups. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Maxine represented public entities in various areas of the law, focusing on local government and labor and employment law. Additionally, she served as a hearing officer for public employee disciplinary hearings and investigated harassment and discrimination complaints. Maxine earned her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and her B.A. from Gettysburg College.


Chirag Patel, Associate
Chicago, Employment

Chirag joins the Chicago office as a member of the Employment practice group. His practice includes litigation in contract, UCC commercial liability, trade secret & restrictive covenants, and other business & employment cases in state and federal court. He develops case strategy and assumes primary responsibility for numerous commercial litigation cases. Chirag earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and his B.A. from Washington State University.

San Diego, Commercial Litigation

Shelby joins the San Diego office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Shelby was a bankruptcy attorney representing debtors, creditors, and trustees. This background allows her to better advise clients and more effectively negotiate on their behalf. Shelby earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law and her B.A. from San Diego State University.


Neha Shingane, Associate
Atlanta, Employment

Neha joins the Atlanta office as a member of the Employment practice group. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Neha was inside counsel for an Atlanta-based marketing and advertising company where she conducted factual and legal research to support sensitive contract negotiations. She gained experience drafting and reviewing all contracts, corporate policies, corporate filings, and corporate governance provisions. Neha earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law and her B.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology.


Ronnie Shou, Associate
San Francisco, Employment

Ronnie joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Employment practice group. She has represented employers in a wide range of labor and employment law matters, including all forms of alleged discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and unfair labor practices. Ronnie earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
