Andrew Schwartz, Lawrence Bartel and Lori Quinn Join Gordon & Rees in the Philadelphia and New York Offices

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Andrew M. Schwartz, Lawrence J. Bartel and Lori J. Quinn. Schwartz and Bartel will join the firm's Philadelphia office and Quinn will join the firm's New York office. The three new partners were previously with Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin.

Schwartz, Bartel and Quinn will join the firm's Commercial Litigation, Professional Liability Defense, Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors' Rights practice groups. Bartel will also be a member of the Employment law practice group and Quinn will also join the Maritime and Product & General Liability practice groups.

Schwartz' practice is largely devoted to professional liability, concentrating on creditors' rights defense, defamation and privacy issues, business and commercial law, and legal malpractice matters. Schwartz defends all manners of financial institutions, debt servicers and buyers, auto finance companies, collection attorneys, student lenders, telecommunication providers, mortgage lenders and credit reporting agencies.

Schwartz is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is also admitted in U.S. District Courts in Western, Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Eastern District of Michigan, Northern District of Illinois, Eastern District of Missouri, Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 2nd and 3rd Circuits. Schwartz is rated AV Preeminent®, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards by the Martindale-Hubbell® peer review system.

Bartel concentrates his practice in the areas of consumer financial services litigation and compliance. In this role, he defends financial institutions, debt servicers and buyers, auto finance companies, collection attorneys, student lenders, telecommunication providers, mortgage lenders and credit reporting agencies against claims brought pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and state consumer laws in the state and federal courts of both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Additionally, Bartel has extensive experience in the defense of civil rights, employment, municipal liability and school claims law. In this capacity, he represents private and public employers, police departments, municipalities and school districts in various claims made and suits brought against them.

Bartel is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey. He has been ranked for two consecutive years (2016-2018) as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer "Rising Star". 

Quinn primarily focuses her practice on professional liability, concentrating on creditors' rights defense cases under the Fair Debt Practices Collections Act. She is a Proctor In Admiralty and began her career handling maritime litigation which includes admiralty and maritime law, cargo subrogation, commercial litigation, marine insurance and reinsurance, property damage litigation and transportation law. She has represented multiple insurance carriers and their insureds in matters involving cargo loss or damage, property damage, aviation and maritime related personal injury cases.  Quinn also handles cases involving personal injury and premises liability.

Quinn is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York and the U.S. District Court Southern District of California. 

Quinn is a member of the National Creditors Bar Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, National Association of Subrogation Professionals and the New York Bar Association. She also serves as a voting member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States' Carriage of Goods Committee, the Marine Insurance & General Average Committee and the Uniformity Committee.
