Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Phoenix office ranked as Phoenix's 30th largest law firm in the Phoenix Business Journal's "The List," an annual listing of the region's largest firms by attorney headcount. The 2019 list places the Phoenix office 18 spots up from last year's ranking.
"The List" appeared in the Journal's January 25, 2019 issue which also featured an interview with Co-Office Managing Partner Leon Silver. In the article, titled "Lawyers see impact, differ on outcome of #MeToo movement," Silver was asked questions about the impacts of the #MeToo movement and if firms are seeing more legal actions against co-workers and employers as a result of the movement aimed to give women a voice in speaking out against sexual harassment. Silver indicated that Gordon & Rees' Phoenix office has not experienced a significant uptick in cases as a result of #MeToo and that the firm is hopeful that the long term result of the #MeToo movement will be to teach companies the importance of providing an inclusive, harassment-free work environment. Silver was also asked what the firm recommends to clients in these types of cases:
"We promote both a legal and a cultural strategy to prevent sexual harassment in our clients' workplaces. The legal response is to implement policies that provide an employee a safe place to report and a meaningful response from the company, free from any [incidences] of retaliation. The cultural strategy is to foster a work culture that is not only harassment free but will not tolerate harassment in any form. Perhaps it is because we provide them with policies that work, that we have not seen any uptick in claims."
