Gordon & Rees Welcomes Sixteen New Attorneys in August 2019

In August, Gordon & Rees welcomed sixteen new attorneys to our Boston, Denver, Jackson, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco. Seattle, and St. Louis offices. They join us as members of the Commercial Litigation, Construction, Employment Law, Health Care, Product & General Liability, and Professional Liability Defense Practice Groups. Harry Benson, Associate
St. Louis, Employment Law / Professional Liability Defense

Harry joins the St. Louis office as a member of the Employment Law and Professional Liability Defense practice groups. Harry earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and his B.A. from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.


Stephanie Brizel, Associate
Denver, Professional Liability Defense

Stephanie joins the Denver office as a member of the Professional Liability Defense practice group. Stephanie earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Central Florida.


Talia Delanoy, Partner
Sacramento, Employment Law / Product & General Liability

Talia joins the Sacramento office as a member of the Employment Law and Product & General Liability practice groups. She is an experienced litigator with a strong reputation in the community amongst local lawyers, mediators and judges. She has experience with all phases of litigation, including trial. In her labor and employment practice, Talia defends employers against claims of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and breach of contract. She practices in both state and federal courts and before administrative entities. Talia earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.


Sally Frontman, Senior Counsel
Los Angeles, Employment Law

Sally joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Sally earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School and her B.A. from the University of Missouri.


David Garner, Associate
Salt Lake City, Commercial Litigation

David joins the Salt Lake City office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has experience in general and complex civil litigation, including product liability defense, business tort, construction defect, breach of contract, professional negligence, wrongful death, personal injuries, and employment matters. David has efficiently managed numerous cases through all stages of litigation in state and federal courts. David earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law and his B.S. from Brigham Young University.


Leslie Horwitz, Associate
San Diego, Employment Law

Leslie joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Leslie earned her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and her B.A. from California State University Northridge.


Molly Kremer, Associate
Pittsburgh, Health Care

Molly joins the Pittsburgh office as a member of the Health Care practice group. Her work includes preparing Medicare Set-Aside Arrangements and having the same approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She makes recommendations on how best to consider and protect Medicare’s interests while also balancing her clients’ interests in claims not requiring Medicare approval. Molly brings a rich background in litigation spanning private and public work to her practice at the firm. Her previous experience includes representing multinational Fortune 500 companies in complex toxic and mass tort product liability actions, and physicians and other medical professionals in professional liability matters. She also served as a Deputy Criminal Prosecutor in the Trial Unit of the City Attorney’s Office in California, prosecuting infraction and misdemeanor cases. In addition, she handled complex commercial litigation matters for small business owners in San Diego, California. Molly earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Southern California.

San Francisco, Product & General Liability

Vernice joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. Vernice earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.


Hiawatha Northington II, Of Counsel
Jackson, Commercial Litigation

Hiawatha joins the Jackson office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Over the last twenty-plus years, he has successfully represented small towns and large municipalities, closely-held corporations and large multinational companies, and individuals and insurance companies in a variety of litigated matters, bringing the same level of skill, focus and commitment to all matters. He has successfully first-chaired over twenty bench and jury trials across Mississippi and Louisiana in both federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration, obtaining several multi-million-dollar judgments for his clients. Hiawatha earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his B.B.A. from Jackson State University.


Jameson Pasek, Associate
Boston, Commercial Litigation

Jameson joins the Boston office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. His experiences include conducting all aspects of discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Previously, Jameson worked for a nationwide litigation firm where he represented financial institutions in commercial, business and real estate litigation matters. He handled matters in numerous courts throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in connection with financial services defense and mortgage-related litigation including breach of contract, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, title disputes, eminent domain, Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth in Lending Act, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. Jameson earned his J.D. from New England Law | Boston and his B.A. from Assumption College.


Jennifer Ro, Senior Counsel
Los Angeles, Commercial Litigation

Jennifer joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She represents and counsels clients in a broad array of complex litigation matters. She has experience in all phases of civil litigation, from pre-litigation to trial. She has experience in litigating in both state and federal court. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Jennifer represented technology and entertainment clients, specializing her practice in intellectual property. Jennifer earned her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.


Hailey Rogerson, Associate
Sacramento, Product & General Liability

Hailey joins the Sacramento office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. She previously interned with the California Department of Justice, where she focused on drafting appeals and pretrial motions. She spent her final year of law school as a member of the King Hall Civil Rights Clinic, where she advocated on behalf of her client to help reach a favorable settlement. Hailey earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law and her B.S. from Loyola Marymount University.


Vanessa Schlaich, Associate
San Francisco, Construction

Vanessa joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. Vanessa earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.


Lance Shurtleff, Partner
Denver, Construction

Lance joins the Denver office as a member of the Construction practice group. Lance is a versatile trial lawyer handling complex State and Federal court cases and handling claims before a variety of regulatory boards. He routinely litigates catastrophic injury cases and large loss property damage cases, focusing on trucking accidents, oil and gas industry accidents, and other casualty in Wyoming, Colorado, and North Dakota. He also advises these companies on the rapidly evolving regulations impacting their industries, handling OSHA, MSHA, and EEOC claims. He advises product designers and manufacturers on issues related to recurrent claims arising from design and manufacturing problems and routinely defends against claims and lawsuits brought against companies involved in these industries. Lance earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Wyoming.

Seattle, Employment Law

Michael joins the Seattle office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Michael earned his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and his B.A. from Utah Valley University.


Arya Zare, Associate
Los Angeles, Employment Law

Arya joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Arya represented businesses in a wide range of matters, including general liability, business law, and employment law. While attending law school, he participated in Start-up Legal Garage, a year-long program in which he assisted in counseling financial technology firms and early stage technology companies on matters involving securities regulation, incorporation, privacy protections and compliance with federal and state laws. Arya earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his B.S. from the University of Southern California.
