Norvik joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Health Care and ERISA practice groups. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Norvik gained experience as a law clerk at a boutique law firm that specializes in employment litigation. Norvik earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
Lawrence joins the Philadelphia office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of consumer financial services litigation and compliance. In this role, he defends financial institutions, debt servicers and buyers, auto finance companies, collection attorneys, student lenders, telecommunication providers, mortgage lenders and credit reporting agencies against claims brought pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and state consumer laws in the state and federal courts of both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Additionally, Lawrence has extensive experience in the defense of civil rights, employment, municipal liability and school claims law. In this capacity, he represents private and public employers, police departments, municipalities and school districts in various claims made and suits brought against them. Lawrence earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and his B.S. from Widener University.
Tianna joins the Wilmington office as a member of the Insurance practice group. Before joining Gordon & Rees, Tianna was a litigation associate at a local civil litigation law firm. She also served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Delaware Department of Justice, where she tried numerous jury trials and bench trials. Tianna earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law and her B.A. from Clark Atlanta University.
Jacob joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. Prior to joining the firm, he represented clients in a wide range of matters including insurance defense, public entity defense, personal injury, and wrongful death cases. Jacob earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and his B.A. from American University.
Nicholas joins the Chicago office as a member of the Insurance practice group. He has extensive experience in analyzing coverage and representing insurers in coverage litigation, particularly claims under commercial crime policies, computer crime policies, cyber security policies, and data breach insurance policies. He regularly handles all aspects of claims involving data breaches and cyber attacks, including the initial investigation and coverage evaluation, the coordinated remediation and regulatory responses, and any litigation arising from disputes relating to the insurer’s duties under the policy. Nicholas earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and his B.A. from Western Michigan University.
Angelo joins the Louisville office as a member of the Construction practice group. He has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, construction litigation, and employment litigation. He has litigated numerous commercial disputes including breach of contract actions, disputes arising out of the investment, development, construction, and sale of commercial and residential real estate, commercial fraud and breach of fiduciary matters, and disputes among corporate shareholders, partners, and LLC members. Angelo earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and his B.A. and B.A.C. from Bowling Green State University.
Barbara joins the Des Moines office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Barbara earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and her B.A. from the University of Iowa.
Mandy joins the Lincoln office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Mandy earned her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and her B.A. from Buena Vista University.
Rick joins the San Diego office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. In joining Gordon & Rees, Rick returns to his home state of California as an attorney with years of wide-ranging and highly salient legal experience on behalf of some of world’s largest companies, and by way of some of the nation’s largest and most prominent firms. Most notably, he was a member of the litigation team serving as national counsel for The Dow Chemical Company, and its subsidiary Union Carbide Corporation, in ongoing complex products liability and toxic-torts litigation. Rick earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.S. from California State University, Northridge.
John joins the San Diego office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. He concentrates his practice primarily in real estate transactions and assist his clients in solving complex real estate problems. He represents developers through acquisition, financing, construction and final disposition of development projects. He is very familiar with all aspects of the development process, including land use, environmental and tax issues. John is also experienced in all types of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, residential and commercial development, condominium conversions, zoning, leasing, loan documentation and loan workout. John earned his J.D. from Loyola University Law School and his B.A. from Loyola University.
Roy joins the Dallas office as a member of the Employment Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He is experienced in federal and state courts across the country and represents corporations, health care providers, construction companies, professionals and businesses of all sizes in EEOC proceedings, consumer class actions, and complex commercial and civil litigation. In employment matters, he represents clients related to allegations of age, gender, disability and race discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour matters, wrongful termination, breach of contract, violations of the FMLA, the FEHA, and the ADA. Roy earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Oklahoma.
Miles joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. His practice focuses on construction litigation in the defense of landowners, developers, and general contractors in a variety of construction defect matters. He has experience in administrative litigation and superior court litigation. Before joining Gordon & Rees, Miles practiced at a small personal injury law firm, where he worked on all phases of settlement negotiation and litigation. In addition, he represented employees in workers’ compensation matters. Miles earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and his B.A. from San Francisco State University.
Miguel joins the San Diego office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Miguel earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
Joseph joins the Columbus office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. His practice focuses on general commercial and financial services litigation. He also has experience in products liability, energy law, and real property law. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Joseph represented and defended clients in mass product liability litigation and consumer financial production cases in both state and federal court. Joseph earned his J.D. from Columbia University Law School and his B.A. and B.S. from Ohio University.
Loren joins the Boise office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He is a litigator with fifteen years of legal experience, including three years of experience as a law clerk in both the state and federal (bankruptcy) courts. Since joining private practice, he has spent approximately 9 years with two of Boise's premier civil litigation firms, handling a wide variety of litigation matters, including personal injury, foreclosure and other real property disputes, professional malpractice, state and federal appeals, medical malpractice, contract disputes, small business ownership and dissolution disputes, lender and other creditor collection actions, etc. He has had many successes for clients, including winning various appeals, prevailing on motions for summary judgment, negotiating highly favorable settlements, and helping protect clients from fraud and financial ruin. Loren earned his J.D. from J. Reuben Clark Law School and his B.A. from Brigham Young University.
Stacy joins the Birmingham office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She is an AV-rated attorney, with more than twenty years of primarily defense litigation, including commercial, construction defect, employment, government liability, products liability, and other personal injury and corporate defense, advising clients in litigation avoidance and handling. Stacy earned her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and her B.A. from the University of Montevallo.
Lori joins the New York office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Lori primarily focuses her practice on professional liability, concentrating on creditors' rights defense cases under the Fair Debt Practices Collections Act. She is a Proctor In Admiralty and began her career handling maritime litigation which includes admiralty and maritime law, cargo subrogation, commercial litigation, marine insurance and reinsurance, property damage litigation and transportation law. She has represented multiple insurance carriers and their insureds in matters involving cargo recovery/subrogation, property damage, aviation and maritime related personal injury cases. She also handles cases involving personal injury and premises liability. Lori earned her J.D. from New York Law School and her B.A. from St. John's University.
Andrew joins the Philadelphia office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. His practice is largely devoted to professional liability, concentrating on creditors' rights defense, defamation and privacy issues, business and commercial law, and legal malpractice matters. He defends all manners of financial institutions, debt servicers and buyers, auto finance companies, collection attorneys, student lenders, telecommunication providers, mortgage lenders and credit reporting agencies. Andrew earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and his B.A. from St. John's College.
Thomas joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Thomas defended employers in court and before state and federal agencies against wage and hour claims, discrimination and harassment lawsuits, retaliation cases, California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions and wrongful termination allegations. He also counseled employers, human resource professionals and management on a variety of matters including recruiting and hiring, wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, disciplinary actions and terminations. Thomas earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad School of Law and his B.A. from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Theodore joins the San Diego office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has experience in a range of complex litigation matters at both the state and federal level in multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States. Theodore has experience representing companies, ranging in size from small to Fortune 500 corporations and individuals. He has represented clients in the toxic tort, nursing home, automobile and trucking accidents, commercial disputes, and medical malpractice sectors in litigation that included allegations of negligence, gross negligence, bad faith, unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract and tortious interference. Theodore earned his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Dallas.
