Seattle Employment Attorneys Tapped By Washington State Women’s Commission to Prepare Model Sexual Harassment Policy and Participate in Panel Discussion on Redefining Workplace Culture in the #MeToo Movement

Seattle Employment Partners Sarah Turner and Nicole Demmon, along with Associate Amy Phan Taylor were approached by the Director of the Washington State Women’s Commission to draft a model sexual harassment policy that will be posted on the Women’s Commission website for businesses to use as a resource when drafting their own sexual harassment policy.  The adoption of this model policy is part of a more formal affair that will take place at the next Women’s Commission quarterly meeting on October 15, 2019.  The Women’s Commission mission is to address issues on a state-wide level that directly affect Washington women.

The all-day meeting will include opening remarks from Washington Governor Jay Inslee and several different panels addressing women-related issues in Washington.  Prior to the voting of the model policy, Turner will have 30 minutes to discuss the model sexual harassment policy and answer any questions from the Commission members.  Following the vote, Turner will participate as a guest panelist in a discussion centered on redefining the workplace culture in the #MeToo Movement.  This is a great opportunity and exposure for the Seattle Employment Group.
