Brian D. Murphy Joins Gordon & Rees as Partner in San Diego Office

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Brian D. Murphy as a partner in the firm’s San Diego office. He joins the firm’s Employment Law practice group. He has served as lead trial counsel on numerous jury and bench trials, as well as matters submitted to arbitration and mediation.

Murphy has represented a diverse range of clients, including large and small businesses in the biotech, chemical, communications, construction, education, entertainment, freight forwarding, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, inverse condemnation, law enforcement, manufacturing, municipalities (such as representing local governments and school districts), nursing, pest control, post-secondary education, retail, and transportation industries. Mr. Murphy represents clients in state and federal court.

He works extensively with employers nationwide. In the employment arena, he has defended employers from claims including wrongful termination and gender, sexual orientation, disability discrimination, sexual harassment, unfair competition, Labor Code and IWC violations, breach of contract, wage and hour issues, including wage and hour class actions.

Murphy is a seasoned trial attorney defending employers in matters involving Civil Rights, the Americans with Disabilities Act, wrongful death, survival actions, paralysis, traumatic brain injuries, catastrophic injuries requiring life care plans, water intrusion and fire damage, transportation matters involving long haul trucking, and train versus pedestrian incidents.

He is dedicated to pro bono matters. At a previous firm, he was recognized for his dedication to his pro bono clients in 2008 and 2009.

He earned his law degree from University of San Diego School of Law and his undergraduate degree from University of California, Riverside.
