St. Louis Partner Jason Winslow Presents Comparison of Medical Malpractice Laws in Different States for Healthcare Conference

St. Louis Health Care Partner Jason Winslow gave a presentation entitled "Comparing Medical Malpractice Laws in Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas" at the Healthcare Services Group annual claims conference on Friday, April 28.

In this presentation, Mr. Winslow, co-presenting with a Kansas lawyer, explored the similarities and differences among medical malpractice laws in Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas, including in the statutes of limitation, tolling mechanisms for continuing care or fraud, apportionment of fault, damages caps, vicarious liability, and punitive damages. 

The Healthcare Services Group annual claims conference is an annual gathering for healthcare insurance attorneys to learn updates to industry laws, ways to more efficiently access information, the implications of recent verdicts in healthcare law, and applicable litigation tips from other attorneys.

Mr. Winslow has been called upon to defend hospitals, physician groups, long-term care providers, and individual clients throughout the health care industry in high-stakes litigation involving catastrophic injuries, allegations of sexual assault, birth injuries, and COVID-19, all in the context of health care. He has tried cases to defense verdict as lead counsel.
