Denver Office Wins Professional Liability Arbitration

Denver attorneys John Palmeri and Lance Ream recently obtained a favorable arbitration award for their clients, the defendants in a legal malpractice case.  The plaintiff brought claims against her former attorneys for breach of fiduciary duty and violation of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act (CCPA), based on their representation of her in an underlying trucking accident lawsuit.  The plaintiff alleged that the defendants forced her to settle for far less than her case was worth.  She sought in excess of $1 million from the defendants and treble damages and attorney fees under the CCPA.  After a three-day arbitration, the arbitrator, a former judge, found no breach of fiduciary duty and no violation of the CCPA.
