Gordon & Rees to Present April 12 Webinar on Auditing Personnel Files

As part of the firm’s 2016 National Employment Law Webinar Series, Gordon & Rees will hold a webinar titled “Auditing Personnel Files,” on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PST.

The live, monthly webinars offer free, practical training on current and emerging employment law issues for large and small companies. Gordon & Rees attorneys provide in-house counsel, human resources professionals, payroll managers, and others with a convenient way to stay up to speed so they can make well-informed employment decisions on a day-to-day basis and avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation.

For the April webinar, attorneys from Gordon & Rees’s Employment Practice Group will will discuss what information should and should not be contained in a personnel file; the importance of auditing I-9 forms; Exempt vs. Non-exempt status and whether employees are properly classified; Affordable Care Act forms and waivers; rest and meal break waivers; and acknowledgments of handbooks and personnel policies. Gordon & Rees Denver partner Laurie Rust and Atlanta partner Leslie Eason will share best practices for auditing an employee's personnel file in order for employers to avoid litigation. A Q&A session will follow the webinar.
