Kathleen Gallagher to Present Direct and Derivative Claims Webinar for California Lawyers Association

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Sacramento Senior Counsel Kathleen Gallagher will present “Hot Topic in Business Litigation: Direct and Derivative Claims in Corporate Litigation,” presented by the Business Law Section and the Litigation Section of the California Lawyers Association on Wednesday, September 8, at 12 p.m. Pacific.

This webinar explores direct and derivative claims made on behalf of California Corporations and LLCs. Gallagher will break down California Corporations Code section 800 and discuss how it can be used by shareholders and LLC members to litigate claims for business damages, as well as what defenses can be raised when this statute is triggered.  This webinar will also examine the steps required to make a derivative claim. 

Gallagher has been a civil litigator since 2007, prosecuting and defending claims on behalf of individuals and companies. She has helped to resolve contract disputes; professional negligence claims; employment claims including sexual harassment and workers’ compensation subrogation; real property claims; personal injury; and others. Her background, combined with her analytical and research skills, allow her to come up with creative and effective solutions for clients.
