Matthew J. Wayne Joins Gordon & Rees as Partner in San Francisco Office

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani welcomes Matthew J. Wayne as a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office. He joins the firm’s Employment Law practice group. 

His practice focuses on defending employers and individuals in single, multi-plaintiff, and class action matters in state and federal courts throughout California. He routinely defends employers in all phases of litigation against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment (including sexual harassment), retaliation, failure to accommodate, wage and hour violations, negligent hiring and retention, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other employment-related claims. He also represents clients before administrative agencies, including the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (“DFEH”) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”).

In addition to his active litigation practice, Matthew regularly counsels a wide range of business clients on employment matters, including issues involving hiring, employee classifications, employee discipline, individual terminations, reductions in workforce, wage and hour compliance, and sexual harassment and misconduct complaints and investigations.

He is admitted to practice in California, and the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California, Central District of California, District of Massachusetts, and the Southern District of Texas.

He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2018–2021.

He earned his law degree from the New England School of Law | Boston and undergraduate degree from California State University, Chico.
