DRI’s Retail & Hospitality Annual Meeting Features Gordon & Rees Attorneys

Leon Silver, managing partner of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani's Phoenix office, serves as Co-Program Chair of DRI’s Retail & Hospitality Annual Meeting and Litigation Seminar on June 22-24 in Atlanta, Georgia. Silver, along with Houston Partner, Philip Robert Brinson will both serve as guest moderators for panel discussions at this event. 

The seminar will feature sessions exploring important litigation in the industry, such as human trafficking claims and evolving personal injury litigation tactics, and experienced industry panelists on how to prepare and defend your business against organized crime, and also discuss the importance of diversity, inclusion, and visibility in the travel industry from the keynote speaker.  CLE credits are available. 

Silver will moderate a session on Thursday, June 23 entitled "Fight Against Organized Retail Crime" that will explore the rise in sophisticated, coordinated, organized crime the retail industry is encountering.  The panel will include Brittany Teal of NordstromMike Combs of Home Depot, and Mick Pinnecke of Allied Universal Security. 

Brinson will moderate a session on Friday, June 24 entitled "Current Issues in Restaurant Franchising" that will feature a discussion of the changing business and legal needs, from direct-to-consumer deliveries to changing labor laws and everything in between within the restaurant franchising industry. The panel includes Steve D. Guterman of SPB Hospitality, and Dennis Minchella of Zalat Pizza. 

The firm is well-represented in this group with San Francisco partner Robert Bodzin serving as the DRI Retail & Hospitality Committee’s Vice-Chair of Publications and Oakland partner Paul Caleo serving as a Steering Committee member alongside Silver.
