Denver Partner Tom Quinn and Father Neil Quinn Featured in The Journal of the American College of Trial Lawyers

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Denver Partner Tom Quinn was featured in a recent article by The Journal of the American College of Trial Lawyers, as part of its "All in the College Family" series. The article highlights Mr. Quinn and his father, Neil Quinn, and their journeys to law and Fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Tom Quinn's father, Neil Quinn, was first exposed to the legal profession in his childhood but early courthouse observations in the Marines, where he ensured that marines who were arrested over the weekends had representation in court, solidified his interest in the law. After leaving the Marines, he sold electric typewriters for IBM by day and attended law school at DePaul University by night, never letting go of the drive and motivation to become an attorney. One memorable experience in his career was representing the Teamsters Central States Health & Welfare Fund in Chicago, a Teamsters pension fund that had been established by former International Brotherhood of Teamsters president, Jimmy Hoffa.

After graduating from the University of Wyoming, Tom Quinn moved to Gillette, Wyoming to assist in building highway overpasses. After a few years, he and his wife decided to go into business for themselves, opening garden centers in Wyoming, but when business slowed, he decided to return to Laramie, Wyoming for law school and, post-graduation, accepted a job offer from a Colorado insurance defense firm, beginning his distinguished career. One memorable case for Mr. Quinn was a lengthy trial involving a Frontier Refinery explosion in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Denver Partner John Palmeri, who co-managed the Denver office of GRSM alongside Tom Quinn for 15 years, stated, "[Mr. Quinn's] sound judgment under pressure is one of the reasons he is a leader in GRSM, working as counsel for the firm in matters across the country. There isn’t a better person to work with on cases, on firm business, and on personal matters."

Tom Quinn has taken more than 60 trials to verdict, several involving claims in excess of $20 million. His trial and litigation experience includes numerous health care matters, fraud and abuse, antitrust, government claims, regulatory disputes, employment, product defect, auto products, deceptive trade, defamation, and professional negligence disputes. He has also argued precedent-setting cases in federal and state appellate courts.
