The Washington, D.C., office opened in March 2012 as the firm’s 23rd office. The office has considerable experience in the areas of labor and employment and business and commercial litigation. The employment team has a demonstrated track record of performance assisting companies and governmental agencies on a broad range of employment law issues, as well as a highly specialized practice in the areas of diversity counseling and affirmative action compliance.
The group also serves as outside general counsel to a number of emerging companies, advising them on the myriad legal requirements in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. For those companies doing business with the federal government, the group (in conjunction with other Gordon & Rees attorneys) possesses deep experience with laws only applicable to such government contractors, including a host of employment laws such as Executive Order 11246, and the Service Contract and Davis Bacon Acts.
As the office has grown, so has the extent of expertise to encompass practices that enhance and complement the many areas in which Gordon & Rees already possesses experience and that collectively serve the needs of the firm's business clients. These now include securities law, antitrust, intellectual property, construction, sports, media and entertainment, business transactions, ERISA, and professional liability defense.
